Dear Following,
Thank you for being part of my professional journey! After a rejuvenating break, I am thrilled to share my exciting new venture, BioFiliate: a biophilic rep firm dedicated to promoting awareness and actively integrating biophilic elements into our future spaces.
For me, SPACE encapsulates a lifetime of passion and dedication. Over two decades in the office furniture industry, I participated in the evolution of the company, engaging in increasingly complex projects at the highest levels of talent and expertise. My journey involved continuous learning about sustainability, construction, and the logistics of execution. Becoming a LEED accredited professional and delving into the study of solar energy deepened my understanding of harnessing natural elements.
Embarking on a new chapter after 25 years, I took on the challenge of renovating commercial property while giving birth to Nailed It! Hardware—a main street hardware store from a woman's perspective. This entrepreneurial endeavor proved to be soul-nourishing, sparking a journey fueled by courage and creativity. With full control, guided by instincts and knowledge, I stood at a crossroad making decisions that validated this hypothesis of biophilia in both my life and work.
Biophilia, the innate connection to nature, guided many decisions regarding Nailed It! Hardware. Transforming a cold, dark warehouse on the creek bank, we added proper heating and cooling, insulation, and exposed large windows for natural light and scenic views. Collaborations with the town and a local beekeeper further enriched the project.
Driven by a shared vision of enhancing the town's natural attributes, we pioneered a movement that brought awareness, attraction, and funds for downtown development—a legacy the town continues to benefit from. The collaboration with the beekeeper, who opened a store inside mine, led to installing beehives outside, creating a unique experience for all.
The sale of my renovation project led me to the profound concept of biophilia. A newfound obsession fueled my latest endeavor, BioFiliate, where we actively facilitate the incorporation of biophilic elements like plants, wood, and sounds into your projects. Collaborating with industry professionals, we aim to bring your natural space visions to life.
In addition to the biophilic elements, BioFiliate offers consultations and is delighted to announce CEU credit presentations for booking. We're here to meet all your plant-related needs, with partnerships providing live, artificial, preserved, living walls and all the maintenance required. Additionally, we offer custom wood products and are developing innovative soundscaping solutions.
The journey continues with courage, creation, and an exploration of the profound connection between humanity and nature. Join us as we embark on this inspirational adventure together!
Sincerely,
Corinne Courtney
